Introduction
Purpose
The primary purpose of this document is to help standardize the processes we use to communicate with data. This handbook is part of our data strategy to improve collaboration between departments and allow for enhanced data-driven decision-making. Why do we need Data Standards? For the purposes of this document, a “data standard” is a technical specification that describes how data should be stored or exchanged for the consistent collection and interoperability of that data across different systems, sources, and users.
Scope
This Data Standards Policy describes the responsibilities and requirements for the development, maintenance, and implementation of data standards to include but not limited to the following:
- Dataset-level standards
- Parameter-level standards
- Policy-level standards
- Roles and responsibilities
